The New England Rural Health Association (NERHA) announces a job opportunity for a full-time Executive Director.  The NERHA, a 501(c)(3) non-profit membership organization, is the rural health association for the six New England states. The Executive Director serves as the face of the NERHA, working closely with the Board of Directors, diverse rural healthcare organizations throughout New England, the National Rural Health Association, state and federal government officials, and the NERHA membership. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization, ensuring that it operates efficiently and effectively to meet its organizational goals. The Executive Director is responsible for project oversight, corporate fiduciary needs, personnel and strategic management, board/member engagement,  policy direction, conference planning, and external liaison activities.   The ideal candidate will be an organized  self-starter who can accomplish their work utilizing advanced telecommunications technologies in a home or virtual office setting - ideally located in one of the six New England states. Travel is required, as needed, to represent the NERHA at regional and national events. Qualifications include:

  • Masters Degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Policy or equivalent, preferred

  • Prior experience in senior nonprofit management position preferred

  • Regional knowledge and experience 

  • Health care systems experience, particularly in the rural context

  • Grant writing/management, Contract management

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (legislative, health care leaders, etc.)

  • Experience with non-profit financial management a plus

  • Supervisory and personnel experience

  • Experience working with a Board of Directors

  • Evidence of commitment to the nonprofit sector a plus

Compensation includes competitive salary with additional allowance for benefits.
